I would really like to hear some sisters singing about violence against women, cuz y'all got a lot of that going in the 'free style' - and it is only one step from ridicule to rape - and the stats on that are going up too.
Seriously, like Linton Kwesi Johnson said, "It not funny."
Seeing you are all in contact with Michael Franti maybe you need to take another listen to the track, "Language of Violence" from the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy CD.

[...] Last night as part of the Oyhoo Festival in NYC, Jewish and Arab MC’s took the stage together for a “Sulha” an Arab tribal tradition of reciprocal gestures and an eventual get together to set aside differences. Israeli MC Sagel 59 and Arab-Isreali MC Saz took the stage and rocked the house along with Chicago’s own Yuri Lane, Shannan Street of Hadag Nahash, Y-Love and others. It was a great show, though a bit underattended. Pictures are coming. Jewschool, Corner Prophets and Modular Moods presented. A cool event.
Man, I've seen this "discussion" all over the net, and I gotta laugh. How many of the peeps who diss Iron for pre-meditation have actually been in his presence at a battle? Anyone who has knows that he has one of the quickest minds out there. Whatever is thrown at him he grabs and turns around. I saw him get interrupted in the middle of his flow by his opponent and literally continue in mid-phrase, without missing a beat, on the new subject that had been introduced. Sure, he writes stuff too - who doesn't? And sure he uses it sometimes when he needs it. But get real. I challenge anyone out there to battle him in an "off-the-top-ONLY" scene.
