“I Know i’m not alone” is the critically acclaimed documentary film made by musician/activist Michael Franti (Beatnigs, Disposable heroes of hiphoprisy, Spearhead), chronicling his voyage to Iraq, Israel and the Palestinian Authority, meeting with civilians, soldiers, musicians and people on the street. Among the artists featured in the film are Israel-Arab rappers DAM, as well as Jerusalem M.C Sagol 59

Israel’s esteemed trio of DJs Botanika have composed a brilliant DJ Set, combining Soul, Funk, Hip Hop and Electronica tracks of strong anti-war messages. The set, which includes songs by The Roots, Curtis Mayfield, Amp Fiddler, Max Romeo, Basement Jaxx and The Human League - among others - can be downloaded for free HERE
On Wednesday 26.7.06, 8:30pm, Tel Aviv’s Tzavta hall (London Ministore, Ibn Gabirol St.) will host a special fundraising concert arranged by the IFA (Israeli Flying Aid) organization, to help the many Israelis who are currently sitting in bomb shelters. Among the contributing artists are: Mooky, Dana Berger, Leah Shabbat, Soulico, Jeremy Kaplan, Sagol 59 and many others. Proceeds will go towards buying food, toys, diapers, cooling systems etc.
IFA’s last endeavour was helping the people of New Orleans in the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

The next Corner Prophets Old Jeruz cipher will be held at Uganda, the record & book store/coffee shop/bar, 4 Aristobolus St., city center, Saturday July 1st, 9pm. Mobius on the beats, Jerusalem’s finest mic wreckaz on the rhymes. Special guest: Anomaly M.C (of UK band Emunah).
